Cape Henlopen State Park

Cape Henlopen State Park is located in Lewes, Delaware. It is on the point where the Delaware Bay meets the Atlantic Ocean. The park offers a unique combination of a coastal environment encompassing ocean and bay beaches, maritime forests and tidal salt marshes, with cultural history in the form of Fort Miles. The fort was a United States Army World War II installation. It was built to protect domestic shipping and the vital centres of Philadelphia and Wilmington from potential German enemy fire. Edisto Beach State Park

Edisto Beach State Park is located on Edisto Island about an hour southwest of Charleston, in South Carolina. It is one of the oldest parks in the state. The park sits at the edge of the ACE Basin, the largest natural reserve on the East Coast. Trails wind through a maritime forest featuring Palmetto trees and salt marshes fed by tidal creeks. More than 1250 acres of coastal habitat are protected. And though it is the quiet child in the state’s family of four oceanfront parks, (Edisto doesn’t get the attention of Myrtle BeachHunting Island or Huntington Beach) it should not be overlooked.
