La Mauricie National Park lies just north of Shawinigan, Quebec. It is one of only two national parks in the province, the other being Forillon National Park at the tip of the Gaspé Peninsula.

The park sits roughly 200 kilometres from both Montreal and Quebec City, making it an easy getaway from either urban centre.
